Successful conclusion of UAE-Korea Industry Forum 'Made for Trade Live: Seoul to Dubai' hosted by DMCC and organized by AGCC

April 2024On 30 April 2024, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), a Dubai Government Authority, hosted in partnership with AGCC and in presence of the Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, Mr. Ahmed Bin Sulayem, the UAE-Korea Industry Forum 'DMCC Made For Trade Live Seoul'. The purpose of this event was to discover promising domestic companies that will expand to the UAE and to exchange with leaders of the country’s major industrial ecosystems.

The forum was hosted by DMCC and organized by AGCC, a cross-border accelerator and DMCC's official partner, to introduce DMCC and network with various domestic institutions and companies.
The Executive Chairman of DMCC, Ahmed Bin Sulayem said during his welcome speech, “Korea and the UAE have many similarities as trade, culture, and tourism are active,” and added, “As Korea is expected to play a leading role in various fields such as artificial intelligence (AI) and logistics, we will pursue partnerships through partnerships.” “I hope that economic cooperation between the two countries will increase,” he said.
The event was joined by high-level welcome speakers Kim Hyun Woo, CEO of the Seoul Business Agency, H.E. Abdullah Saif Al-Nuaimi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, and Chiara de Caro, Managing Partner of AGCC by expressing support for the expansion of exchanges between the two countries.

Leading institutions from UAE and Korea participated in the forum to discuss joint opportunities such as DMCC (Director Belal Jassoma), K-water (Director Kwon Mun Hyeok), KAIST Value Creation Research Institute (Vice President Keon Jae Lee), Global Digital Innovation Network ( CEO Kim Jong Gap), Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (General Manager Dr. Ko Young-Ju), Naver (Naver Labs Director Jung Wonjo), Hanyang University Startup Support Group (Director Ryoo Chang Wan), Korea Accelerator Association (Chairman Jonathan Jeon).
Together with further notable executives who participated as speakers and panelists each organization announced its policies and aspirations for bilateral exchange and global expansion and support for the UAE.

AGCC commits to accelerate support for Korean companies’ expansion into the Middle East through launching programs and partnerships.
AGCC has supported the advancement of various global companies into the Middle East through networks in private and public sectors across the Middle East, Europe and Asia. In addition, by establishing AGCC Korea in Gangnam, Seoul in January 2024, the company expressed its strong will to serve as a bridgehead for full-scale exchanges between promising companies from both countries and global expansion.
Jemma Jeon, CEO of AGCC Korea, said, "Despite the short promotional period and the Ramadan break prior to the event, this forum confirmed the strong interest of the domestic startup ecosystem in entering the Middle East (UAE). We plan to accelerate support for domestic companies’ expansion into the Middle East through launching programs and partnerships”.
