On Tuesday, DMCC and AGCC officially announced their ecosystem partnership, marking the launch of the DMCC AI Centre, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at accelerating AI innovation across the UAE and broader GCC region. This ecosystem partnership between DMCC and AGCC will accelerate AI adoption across industries and promote sustainable business growth throughout the GCC region.
The first key initiative under this collaboration is the launch of the DMCCxAGCC: Global AI Challenge *Sustainability Edition, the largest AI competition, held at Expand North Star/GITEX 2024, and designed to identify and support AI-driven solutions that have the potential to make a significant positive impact in the GCC region.
To further incentivize innovation, the DMCCxAGCC: Global AI Challenge *Sustainability Edition offers a total prize pool of $100,000, designed not only to provide financial backing but also to deliver practical resources that enable startups to scale their operations within the GCC.

The final round of the competition will take place at the Expand North Star 2024 event in Dubai on October 16, where the top startups will present their solutions live to the audience. The competition will culminate in an award ceremony, recognizing the most innovative and impactful AI solutions.

Alessio Garofalo, CIO/CTO at Oxagon, NEOM, brings extensive experience in AI and automation across various sectors. Luca Barbi, General Partner at STV, the largest venture capital fund in the Middle East, adds his expertise in scaling high-growth technology startups across the region. Belal Jassoma, Director of Ecosystems at DMCC, will contribute his knowledge on supporting the growth of technology-driven enterprises in the UAE, while Chiara de Caro, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at AGCC, offers over 15 years of experience building and scaling startups across global markets.
